Project #1 Design of Haptic Kinematic Mechanism for Web Based Museum

The goal of this research and design project will be to build an inexpensive device to create the ‘feel’ of the motion of a kinematic mechanism similar to some of the models in the Reuleaux Collection. The device will be coupled to a virtual kinematic mechanism either through CAD or QUICKTIME videos. Both hardware and software development will be required. It is envisioned that this “Haptic” device can be incorporated into Cornell’s KMODDL website on the Reuleaux Collection.
