Here is an interactive environment that was developed by Jesse Zhang and me that recreates the physics of an optical tweezer and optical manipulation. We hope to develop this further into a tool for K-12 STEM education.

Instructions: Click and hold the left mouse button to turn on the optical tweezer (HeNe laser) and move around the particles.  The clear ones are polystyrene, the blue ones are glass, and yellow are gold. The goal is to move the particles into the grey circle. The blue walls have an attractive potential and the red ones have a repulsive potential. Have fun!
