Biography

(Resume/C.V.)

Allen Yang is a graduate student at Cornell University in the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) since 2005. His thesis work is the design, development, and study of optofluidic transport devices and is supervised by Prof. David Erickson of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE). He attained his M.S. in Chemical Engineering in January 2008. Please see the Research Page for more details on current research interests.

Previously, Allen studied at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where he attained his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. During that time, he participated in the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program at Cornell University. The project, titled “Fabrication and Stabilization of Non-Spherical Colloids for Self-Assembly” was supervised by Prof. Abraham Stroock of CBE at Cornell.

Allen grew up in New Jersey, land of congested highways and unwarranted infamy. Whatever the general conception is, NJ is NOT all like Newark. His interests include: tennis, skiing, golf, video games, politics, and building computers.
